Turquoise was popular during the Romantic and Aesthetic periods of the Victorian era. They believed the stone brought good fortune and protected the wearer from evil and harm. The Victorians also enjoyed the pop of colour against the richness of gold. Pearls in the Victorian era were associated with a number of symbols such as innocence, purity, humility and harmony.
Our antique Victorian necklace features a double horseshoe with seed pearls and turquoise set in 9ct gold. The pendant was expertly reimagined from an antique brooch by our expert Hatton Garden master Goldsmith in London, England.
